Piano & Heavy Item Movers in NJ

Heavy, awkward, and expensive-to-replace — that's our lane.

Upright pianos, baby grands, gun safes, treadmills, Peloton bikes on second floors, sleeper sofas with iron frames — some things need more than two guys and a dolly.

Haul Yeah has the gear (piano skid boards, heavy-duty ratchet straps, four-wheel piano dollies, stair-climbing appliance dollies) and the crew (three or four movers depending on the item) to handle heavy items in NJ homes and apartments without cracking a doorframe or dropping a leg through your floor.

We do standalone heavy-item jobs (just the piano, nothing else) and add-ons to a full move. Uprights, spinets, consoles, baby grands, and full grands are all in scope. Tell us the make and model when you ask for a quote so we bring the right rig.

What's included

What heavy-item movers should bring

  • Piano skid board and straps

Uprights go on the skid, straps do the lifting, not somebody's back.

  • Four-wheel piano dolly

For horizontal moves through hallways and driveways.

  • Stair-climbing appliance dolly

For safes, refrigerators, and washer/dryers on stairs.

  • 3–4 mover crews

Never a two-mover job. Enough hands to keep everyone safe.

  • Full disassembly on grands

Legs and pedal lyre come off; instrument goes on its side on a padded board.

  • Blanket + shrink wrap

Nothing rides bare in the truck. Ever.

  • Careful handling to match

For high-value pieces we walk you through the plan — load order, stair route, protection — before move day so nothing rides on chance.

FAQ

Piano & Heavy Item Movers, answered honestly.

Uprights ride upright on a heavy-duty skid board, secured with straps, moved on a four-wheel dolly. Baby grands are tipped onto their side onto a padded board (called being 'boarded up'), legs and pedal lyre removed, then wrapped in blankets. Both take a three-mover crew minimum.

Yes, with a stair-climbing dolly and a four-mover crew for uprights, more for grands. Long staircases and narrow turns take longer; we'll ask about the specifics on the quote so we bring the right size skid board.

Yes — up to about 1,000 lbs on a standard job. Anything heavier, we'll ask a few questions to confirm we can crew it safely. Tell us the weight and floor when you ask for a quote.

Yes — those are common heavy items for us. Treadmills usually fold or partially disassemble; Pelotons we disassemble the touchscreen arm and pedals for tight staircases. Both are common add-ons to a full move.
